SUNDAY RECREATION LEAGUE PLAY

  • Game scores should be maintained to assist coaches and officials with managing the game. For example, if the score differential reaches 6, the trailing team can opt to restart play with possession at midfield, rather than with a draw.
  • For grades 1/2 & 3/4, scores are maintained by coaches/officials — no scoreboards. For grades 5/6 & 7/8, scores can be displayed using scoreboards.
  • Using large/stadium scoreboards — this is allowed, but must be managed carefully. They are not allowed at grades 1/2 & 3/4. They can be used at grades 5/6 & 7/8. In the event of a 10-goal differential, the use of the large/stadium scoreboard will stop and the score will then be maintained by coaches/officials to help manage the game.

FRIDAY NIGHT SELECT LEAGUE PLAY

  • Scores should be maintained and displayed at the field. For Select League Games, it is still important to show sportsmanship and respect for opponents with score keeping.

FOR ALL GAMES

  • Game scores are to be reported to the league by the home team for data collection and to assist with creating competitively balanced games.
  • The use of scoreboards for any game requires programs/teams to demonstrate respect for opponents and sportsmanship. If a program or team is unable to meet the league code of conduct, the Founders Sportsmanship committee will determine a program’s ability to continue displaying scores.
