Based on what we know today, the earliest Sunday game date will be May 3. This is based primarily on: school closures, MIAA targeting April 27 as a start date for high school sports (May 4 for HS games), and CDC guidelines recommending the cancellation of events of 50 or more. Note that the CDC is currently setting gathering restrictions through mid May. We will watch this closely. Though nobody knows what’s in store, I think the above start date sets a realistic expectation for families and programs.
For practices, play dates, and meetings, please follow the recommendations and guidelines from your town and the state. It is the league’s recommendation that no in-person lacrosse activities occur prior to Monday, April 27. This date can change.
The Sunday game schedule (starting May 3) will be posted to fgll.org this week and we’ll let you know when that happens. The online game change request form will be live and our assignors will begin to assign officials. Tim and I are working on the Select League schedule. Several programs lacked sufficient Friday evening field space and we’ll be in touch with those programs to work on this. As you know, we lost access to our neutral site fields and we’re working around this challenge.
